The silver ball chain comes in 5 different lengths, and since it has a ball chain connector clasp you can shorten it if needed by snipping it with a dull scissor or wire cutter. 

The silver and gold cable chains are stainless steel with a lobster clasp. They are dainty but strong, and come in an 18" length only.
